Kakagate School

Kakagate is the second of our supported schools. Getting to know this school more recently, we saw this rural school had very few facilities, but an incredibly dedicated staff. Gradually work has been done to help this school. A daily meal is now provided for the children, many of whom walked miles to come to school each day. New, brick built classrooms have gradually been added. The Government of Uganda could not allow Kakagate to re-open after twelve months of closure due to the Coronavirus pandemic, unless the school could provide desks for each child. The money was raised, the desks built, and delivered. The school re-opened in January 2022! Since then work has continued, in order to make life somewhat better for those in the school, both teachers and pupils. Brick built classrooms, water provision, toilet blocks, dormitories, staff accommodation, are all built or being built. The changes are phenomenal, giving the pupils the best opportunites of a really great education
