DONATIONS AND MANAGEMENT EXPENSES POLICY
It is the aim of Christian Hope Uganda (UK) to be transparent in the use of all gifts from its supporters. To this end all donors are informed as follows:
1. The Charitable status of CHU(UK) is as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission under Registration number: 1196904 and the annual accounts are available on the Charity Commission Website:
2. It is the aim of the trustees to ensure that all donations for the work of CHU(UK) are sent to the supported bodies in Uganda with no deduction for administration and other management expenses. These will normally be borne personally by those administering the work. This is reflected in the accounts as Restricted Funds for Management Expenses whereby some of the trustees’ personal donations are allocated for this purpose.
3. All supporters are assured that the amounts that are donated for a specific purpose (known as Restricted Funds in Charity Commission terminology) are allocated in total for that purpose.
4. Should exceptional expenses occur which are beyond the means of the Trustees and others designating their donations for this purpose, then they will be met from donations made without a specific allocated purpose. Donors should be aware that this is not a situation that is expected to arise and would be clearly indicated within the Annual Report to the Charity Commission.
