(Formerly known as Parental Care Ministries UK)

It is with great sadness that we have had to say goodbye to our dear friend and co-worker Marion Dutton who has passed into the presence of the Lord and Saviour she loved and served so faithfully.

My wife and I had the privilege of visiting Marion  two days before she left us.  Our experience during that visit highlighted the character of Marion.  We went to try and bring encouragement, comfort and to pray for Marion and the family.  Marion, in her weakness diverted attention away from herself, asking after our health, expressing concern for us and after we prayed for her, she used the little strength she had to whisper a prayer for us.  We left her bedside moved, encouraged and blessed.  This was not all.  As we were leaving Peter handed us a voucher for a meal at a restaurant stating that Marion regretted not being able to invite us for a meal and so wanted to give us this instead. She was

a godly lady who preferred to serve in the background, put others first, and had a heart full of love, compassion and generosity.  Marion has left a massive hole in the lives of her family and many more besides.  She will be greatly missed not least by the staff and children of the schools in Uganda who she blessed so much and who loved her dearly.

About

A bit of background

In 2010 a charitable work known as Parental Care Ministries UK was born out of Emmanuel Church in Llandudno and has supported impoverished communities in Uganda by providing financial and other compassionate support to primary and secondary schools in south west Uganda. In 2021 the time had come for the work to be registered with the UK Charity Commission as a charity in its own right under this new name.

CHU (UK) mainly supports two primary schools in the Ugandan villages of Kyehimba and Kakagate and it has been thrilling to see the development of each school since UK donors and

supporters became involved with the schools.

Please look through the rest of this website for a fuller picture of what has been achieved and

what is envisaged for the future.

Children Praying

The Kakagate staff ready for taking the children on the adventure of education!

Despite the continued need for improved facilities in Kakagate school, the children are delighted to be back.

Necessary building repairs have been undertaken here in Kakagate. This is the poorer of the two schools supported by CHU(UK) This building suffered a termite attack during lockdown, and needed repairs before the children could return. Several of the Kakagate buildings are still wooden structures.
