Work is going ahead for a girls' dormitory at Kakagate - the smaller of our two school there in Uganda, and also for some new boy's toilets.

The inside of the new dormitory shows some window spaces and a door space., and a currently muddy floor. But... and this is exciting - a proper roof! Initially this dormitory will sleep 50 girls and a staff member. It is being built in such a way that eventually it can be extended to house 100 girls - good news indeed, as this school is becoming very popular in the area with it having such a good reputation, and keeps on growing in numbers! You can see from the shape of the roof at the left side in the picture below, how this building can be extended at a later date.

The work for the long drop boy's toilets has also started. This is currently hitting a problem, as the dig has hit some very rocky ground. Obviously the deeper the pit, the longer the toilets can last, so a solution needs to be found. Can you pray this will be the case?

A good start - but they need to go further down!
And finally...

This last image was taken in 2012. A mud floor in the classroom, some children without shoes, leaving them vulnerable to infections as insects crawl up through the mud. What a change in 2025 where new buildings, with concrete floors, are being erected; larger numbers of children are on the roles at the two schools as the reputations grow; the staff and the children are getting their own space as new buildings for accommodation are being erected; the children are growing in health as meals and good sleep are available. So much achieved - by YOU as you support this work.
Thank you.
