Excuses, excuses, excuses...

I want to sincerely apologise for the 10 month delay in these blog posts - especially at a time when so many beautiful things have been happening out in Kyehimba and Kakagate! After my last post in June, I moved out of my home in Wales - and into temporary accommodation - until November! Finally, after over 3 months without any access to the internet, I moved into my new home - and let's just say, it's taken some time to organize myself, find things, and then try to write this post. In the intervening months just about everything has changed - even the layout on the page where I write these posts. I'm hoping I'm getting it right, that this will publish successfully, and you will be able to see what is happening in Uganda.

So, enough of my woes and excuses...

Your amazing generosity has stunned everyone in CHU. Thank you for supporting these youngsters in their education. God has blessed your gifts in huge ways.

At Kyehimba...

... the new staff accommodation is finished. Such a blessing for the staff as this means they have their own space.

... This is Alex outside his own room.

At Kakagate more has been happening too...

... all the children now have jumpers as part of their school uniform. It completes the really smart look, giving the youngsters a sense of dignity and belonging.

... celebrations at the start of the new school year - a special meal for all the youngsters to enjoy.

I know that lots more has been happening with these lovely youngsters - that the schools are becoming very popular with the local parents - which means numbers are going up!! I think the current role is between seven and eight hundred children spread between the two schools! The schools are becoming popular because they are good! The standard of teaching is high and the parents appreciate that fact. The children all receive a good meal at school - another bonus. The staff are dedicated, competent, committed.

So, assuming this post makes it out into the big wide world... that's it for now. Hopefully, I'm now back in gear for keeping you up to date! Apologies, and thanks for your patience.
